She does it for the children

She does it for the children

“She does it for the children.” Chirps in the companion. “Hana is a doctor for children’s skin. When they come to her they are crying. But when they see her they stop. I’m her assisting nurse so I have seen it time and again. Hana is so inspiring! we are from Slovakia originally.”
And the whole time Hana Zelenekova was smiling and laughing.

Twins dressed like twins

Twins dressed like twins

“I am Gerd Nordström and this is my twin Gunn. We don’t see each other so often. So when we do, we think it’s fun to dress alike! She lives in Dalarna and I live in Sigtuna. We have been out on the town browsing since 9 this morning so headed home now. It’s a funny thing watching people in today’s society, it’s like a ghost town. People don’t smoke anymore, they just concentrate on their telephones. Which is good I guess. The sad thing is when they have kids with them that don’t get attention. That’s the sad thing.”

Henny

Henny

“My name is Henny Jacobson. I like the jacket too! You can turn it inside out you know. It’s very versatile. Oh I’m glad I stopped to talk to you! One doesn’t always dare. But it’s so nice when one does get a chance to talk to people. My family is actually really nice and come and visit me often, not everybody has that. And it becomes so important at my age when near and dear friends have started disappearing. That’s how it goes. Life and death. I am on my way into Feelgood here now to keep up the good health actually. Thank you again for stopping and talking to me!

Janet from Cape Town

Janet from Cape Town

“My name is Janet, I’m from South Africa. I Left in 2001 when I was a grown woman, which was tough, but I had to! Realized we were stuck in our closed-off society, with the apartheid and censorship and sanctions and everything. We had no books, no music, and no art coming in, nothing. Finally I couldn’t do it anymore. Even if it meant leaving my family behind and detaching from them. I travelled, walked the journey of Santiago de Compostela and wrote a book almost as a metaphor of ones life journey. Then I ended up here in Sweden after a few years. I’m now living in Gnesta. You need peace to find your inner self, it is peaceful there.”

Marianne and her bluebird

Marianne and her bluebird

“I’m Marianne, on my way to have a drink at Scandic Hotel here. I try to dress the way that I want, the way that I’m most comfortable with, I like the punkish-style so I try to dress that way.
And agreed that we need to be less ageist in society!
My bluebird pin is actually for supporting children and youth. All ages are important.

Yoga Healing

Yoga Healing

I’m Agneta Heuman. The best thing with summer is finally having vacation!
I’m a pensioner actually but I have been giving medicinal yoga classes from my apartment during the past few years. After my accident in 1998 when a car hit me, I was in so much pain. Nothing helped. And so I tried out medicinal yoga and it actually worked! It was the only thing that worked. So I took a training course and became a certified teacher and have been giving classes ever since. It is fantastic. Even if you are not in pain it is a preventive therapy that is good for both the body, mind and soul. I haven’t tried any other yoga forms so I can’t compare it to anything but I think it is great!

Evie

“And the other day I went to see Amadeus Mozart and the funniest thing, the person playing Mozart looked exactly like me! Mint and pink outfit with the curly hair. I think the best thing in life might be music. I fall in a trance, completely in the now, going through an emotional journey. I call it a musical orgasm!”

Inger

Inger

One more of Inger. We actually spotted her socks first, is she into punk we thought.. And then the fact that she was sitting next to a homeless man speaking to him at length intrigued us. What could that say about a person? And then when we finally spoke to her it turned out she had worked with him for many years within psychiatry and addiction.
Lesson learned? Stay open-minded. And make contact!

“I’m Inger. I’m a pensioner from working within psychiatry and addiction for many years. I have seen it all. That kind of makes you humble. So now I simply want to enjoy life, hoping to live as well and as long as I can. So I’m gonna go ‘enjoy’ a walk now. See you later!”
